Jira Connector

Summary

The Jitterbit Harmony Jira Connector provides an interface for entering user-provided input such as credentials to create an authenticated Jira connection. That connection provides the foundation to configure associated Jira activities that interact with the connection.

The Jira connector supports Jira Software Cloud. The on-premises Atlassian products Jira Server and Jira Data Center are not supported.

The Jira connector supports default system fields. Custom fields are not supported.

Supported API Versions and Prerequisites

The Jira connector uses the Jira REST API v3.0. Refer to the API documentation for information on the schema fields.

The Jira connector requires the use of an agent version 10.1 or later. These agent versions automatically download the latest version of the connector when required.

Connector Overview

This connector is used to first configure a Jira connection, establishing access to Jira, and then used to configure one or more Jira activities associated with that connection as a source or target within an operation:

  • Search: Finds an object at a Jira endpoint and is intended to be used as a source in an operation.

  • Search Filter: Finds filters at a Jira endpoint and is intended to be used as a source in an operation.

  • Search Dashboard: Finds dashboards at a Jira endpoint and is intended to be used as a source in an operation.

  • Create: Creates new objects at a Jira endpoint and is intended to be used as a target in an operation.

  • Update: Updates existing objects in a Jira endpoint and is intended to be used as a target in an operation.

  • Delete: Deletes objects in a Jira endpoint and is intended to be used as a target in an operation.

  • Issue: Creates, updates, or deletes issues in a Jira endpoint and is intended to be used as a target in an operation.

  • Transition: Transitions an existing object at a Jira endpoint and is intended to be used as a target to consume data in an operation.

Together, a specific Jira connection and its activities are referred to as a Jira endpoint.

Accessing the Connector

The Jira connector is accessed from the Connectivity tab of the design component palette by using the Show dropdown to filter on Connectors.

Once a connection is configured, activities associated with the endpoint are available by using the Show dropdown to filter on Endpoints and then clicking the Jira connection block:
